The Feel-Good Gifts of the Summer!

Earlier this month, I was asked by the eminent Tweeting Goddess, Ms. Samantha Kelly, whether I would like to exhibit some Personal-a-Teas Gifts at the Women’s Inspire Conference, held at the Cork International Hotel. It was an opportunity not to be missed. Among the speakers on the day were (in no particular order): Bibi Baskin (The first lady to have her own TV show on RTE), Ms. Gaye Moore (The Potentialist), Helena Gilhooly (The Busy Beader and Twitter guru – it’s fair to say!), Eileen Woodford (Powerful lady!), Grainne O’ Donovan (everything legal), ‘The Larger than Life’ (seriously!) Aisling Curtin, Mary McKenna (Tour America), Moira Geary (The Recombobulator) and Fiona Gratzer (Unislim), to name but a few. There were so many other superb contributors (you know who you are!), complemented by the only male speaker: Mr. James Sweetman (this man knows how to create a good quote!) and the fabulous Ruth Scott from 2FM, who was the MC for the day.

Detailed below, are some of the reactions from the delegates and speakers upon receiving their uniquely personalised gift from Personal-a-Teas. The reactions below are simply ‘magical’.

‘Blessed was I amongst Inspired Women!’

This magical experience can be yours too, to share with a loved one / friend / employee / customer. Essentially, you are reflecting their own personality on a gift, in front of their very eyes! No one else is doing this. It’s a truly unique experience, from a creative mind from The Liberties in Dublin.

Simply create your (go on, treat yourself!) or their selfies here. It’s a matter of click, click, click!

Bibi – @BibiBaskin – as mentioned, was the first female to hold her own TV show in RTE. She also travels extensively, she’s a journalist, commentator and has a strong affinity for India. Bibi’s reaction to her @PersonalATeas gift was …amazing. She was speechless (in a good way!). Prior to giving her talk, Bibi had a few butterflies, it’s fair to say. We reckon, our gift dispelled some of those butterflies, in time for her to take the stage!

Eileen – @NucleusCoaching – helps to bring out the best in you and ‘your people’. Through her own considerable experience, through considerable tribulations, she shows you methods in resilience, confidence and mindset; armoury for the situations you may encounter in this Changing World.

It’s no mean feat being the only male speaker at the Women’s Inspire Conference. Was James – @JamesSweetman – phased by the occasion? Not on your nelly! He is an expert speaker, coach and corporate trainer. He has also authored 5 books. His talk illustrated how we need to value ourselves whilst on this entrepreneurial journey. After all, ‘no one will value YOU more than YOU will value YOURSELF’.

Gráinne – @DouglasLawSols – provided a legal health check for (females) in business. She outlined some of the (legal) basics. Her talk provided focussed and goal orientated advice to the attendees.
She also really, really loved her @PersonalATeas gift!

Only Aisling – @AislingCurtin – could tempt / negotiate the ownership and use of her Personal-a-Teas Mug with Shanti, her beloved cat. She’s just so full of life! Her enthusiasm, motivation and zest for life is infectious. She’s a rule breaker (in a very positive sense!), author, speaker and soon to be married! We wish her and her partner all the very best for the future… one thing’s for sure, Aisling will keep smiling! 🙂

Helena – @busybeaders2013- provided one of the standout moments of the Conference. She provided her very first talk in public! And she nailed it! Her talk was about her story. Her entrepreneurial journey, how from a pretty dark place, she took action, discovered her inner-strength, made connections and with a little help from a small social media platform, Twitter, continues to grow her Busy Beaders brand nationally and globally. Well done, Helena!
Oh, and she has posed in a bath for a charity calendar… lack of confidence, you say???

Mary – @MaryTourAmerica – The Queen of Tour America, had the brightest and biggest smile of the Conference! Mary started Tour America in 1995, saw opportunities when none appeared imaginable (for instance after 9/11) and she has grown her company into the largest USA/Cruise Tour Operator operating in the Irish Market. Her talk was heavily influence by Mile Cyrus… no, not Wrecking Ball, but the more inspirational The Climb!

Ruth – @ruthscott – unsurprisingly was highly skilled at being the MC for the day. She summarised and weaved together common threads from each speaker’s contributions with light hearted anecdotes and commentaries.

It was a pleasure to finally get to meet Moira – @moirageary – herself. Although, I must admit, I was surprised when she told me she was from Limerick! Her pseudonym, The Recombobulator, had lead me to believe she was a Marvel Superhero or from the Hills of Hollywood, USA!
As The Recombobulator, Moira provided a talk / workshop on ‘Practical Strategies to Overcome Money Worries in Business.

Kitty Cat Hogan! – @Kittycathogan – She’s a bubbly character and the author of the Irish Times Bestseller ‘They All Fall Down’. She runs her own business in content and marketing. She’d be delighted to share her journey and experiences in publishing her first book with you, as she did so gregariously, with us.

Gaye – @GayeMoore – was a complete charmer! Her message is that of finding and using your inner strength, knowing who you are, loving who you are. She teaches people how to heal their thoughts and master their mindset. She helps people find positivity and true happiness in their lives. Her confidence is under-stated yet powerful and resonates from her. She is the living embodiment of her ‘potentialist’ message. A true star!

Dee – @iDMEwristbands – provided the most enlightening slide of the day! Read the advertisement above – it’s Ernest Shackleton’s recruitment message for men to be part of his ill-fated expedition to the Antarctic. Certainly, not for the faint-hearted! Not far off the mental journey within the mindset of the entrepreneur.
And yes, Dee is a serious Rebellette!

Breda’s story – @BredaStac – was about entrepreneurial resilience, sacrifice, team-work and support. The downturn in the Irish economy saw considerable upheaval in Breda’s life. Her talk illustrated how, in times of difficulty (hopeless disaster would be closer to the mark) that you make the most of what you’ve got, use your creativity, passion and drive and eventually life will start to turn back in your favour. Action and belief in yourself are key!
She is a productivity and performance coach of considerable note.

Samantha Kelly – @TweetingGoddess – was the organiser extraordinaire. She provided a fantastic vantage point for me to exhibit our wonderful gifts and she was always at hand to ensure things ran smoothly for myself and the other guests. Unsurprisingly, Sam was a principle organiser of the Social Media Summit (Croke Park) less than a week later!
