Nothing wrong with the question, except Kate, being our family friend visits our humble abode at least twice a month, perhaps more. How embarrassing being exposed as a hosting goldfish again and again.
This pain-point, was the seed from which the Personal-a-Teas concept gestated.
The solution it seemed, was to develop a fun app. One which would enable you (the end-user) to never forget how your ‘champion guests’ liked their preferred hot beverages. Perhaps, even providing a route to quirky kitchen calendars etc.?
The Personal-a-Teas seed ‘grew legs’, evolved, was re-imagined through two ‘Start Your Own Business’ courses and eventually the concept for rewarding people on the basis of their personality, was formulated. The conception of the Je Suis Personality (JSP) Team followed, almost seamlessly.
That was this time last year.
Fast forwarding 12 months what was achieved by JSP /Personal-a-Teas during 2016? In summary, we brought magic to people’s lives, rewarding them both on emotional and gifting levels. We rewarded both end-users and business owners, alike. This blog is inundated with a selection of some of the wonderful reactions we received when folks received their Personal-a-Teas Selfies via the Twitter platform.

Admittedly, the JSP website, www.jesuispersonality.xyz is a bit of a sprawling monstrosity. Sure, it can be intimidating. It’s a little like Dublin City, itself. It has the ability to give some flaky end-users a complex as soon as they are taken out of their (‘North side / South side’!) comfort zones. However, the rewards are there! Right under our collective noses – like taking a Walking Tour with Ralph ‘Pipe-smoke’ Smyth. Worth the effort and certainly a hoot when on the journey! The website includes the Personal-a-Teas Selfie Generator, the ‘Personal-a-Treats’ (our monthly rewards for you, Dear End-user), Our shop for quality gifts and finally, our blogs.
The creation, publication and promotion of a Personal-a-Teas blog is an exhilarating exercise. Watching the viewing numbers increase is pretty-damn exciting. We get ‘Goosebumps’ each time we receive a comment regarding a published blog. There is no strict formula upon the topics which we write about. We have covered music (Bowie, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon); the Entrepreneurial Journey (admittedly, this provides some therapeutic relief for The Promoter); movies, box-sets and documentaries (Ghostbusters, Stranger Things, Cartel Land, Dis-Honesty, respectively), amongst other commentaries. One our favourites is about how one can find inspiration from ‘the unlikeliest of sources.
As with our core values, we want to reward YOU, Dear Reader with honest opinions, wrapped within our fun ‘personality-fused’ configuration. Our articles must be entertaining, fulfilling and fun. Engaging.
At the turn of 2016, we called the jewel in the Personal-a-Teas crown, by the very unfriendly, depressingly blue (get it??) term, ‘Avatars’. There’s no ‘music’ in the term ‘Avatar’. In truth, it’s lifeless, robotic (despite the premise of the blockbuster movie of the same title!), lacks fun and is the opposite to what (and where) we want to bring you! The necessary inspiration for change came to The Promoter one autumn evening following a good swim. (Highly recommended for clearing the thought process, folks!)
With ‘Personal-a-Teas Selfies’, you create your very own tickets to personalised rewards, the possibility to win prizes, avail of treats and purchase magical gifts. Our selfies focus on your personality – not your photograph! They focus upon WHO you are! They reward WHO you (or your loved one’s) are! You will also receive an actual treat at a Personal-a-Teas client café – guaranteed! There is no other reward system quite like Personal-a-Teas!
Our wonderful Personal-a-Teas illustrators have brought YOUR preferred hot beverages to life! The team has remained consistent in both imagination and talent. Special mention and thanks to Adam, Fatti, Sonja, Jon and Paula. They have all made sterling contributions to our concept, so far. The fruits of our Personal-a-Teas Team efforts are here! Throughout this article. These reactions give us, such a boost – These tweets represent the magic, you see! We get as much pleasure, emotion and lift, as you, the recipient! It truly is a ‘Boomerang of Awesomeness!’
The numbers of end-users creating their Personal-a-Teas Selfies, was good for Year 1. It’s a new concept. It’s creative. It challenges the norm. Understandably, it takes time to absorb the workings of such a customer journey and admittedly, perhaps our message required optimisation, too.
The ‘Magic of Reward’ continued throughout the year, as we launched our recognition concept: ‘Personal-a-Treats’. On a monthly basis, we launched dedicated rewards to our Personal-a-Teas’ers (End-users!), whereby, they would be notified via Twitter, with respect to a reward specifically designed and waiting for them. A reward, personalised for them through their selfie. The rewards were in the form of complimentary treats to be availed of at Two Pups Coffee Café.

Two Pups Coffee, is the cosiest café in Dublin. Based in Dublin’s Liberties, it has a fresh bohemian feel without cosmic forces dulling your senses. There is a real buzz here, and like the atmosphere within the café itself, Kevin and Zoe, young entrepreneurs, themselves were willing to give the Personal-a-Teas Promotions a chance. They have been suitably rewarded (in keeping with the premise for JSP) for their positivity and willingness to take a ‘punt’ on a fellow creative entrepreneur.
Two Pups Coffee have availed of some of the most creative promotions ever dedicated to local, independent cafés. Such promotions included: (i) Personal-a-Teas Selfie Magic! (ii) ‘Shake YOUR Tictacs!’ (iii) Increased local awareness (iv) Social Media engagements (v) interviews at ‘The Caf’ (vi) video content (vii) B2B alignments (viii) event management (ix) Personal-a-Teas publications and many more. Sales from June to September increased 145% as a result of our promotions. We will continue to build our café community throughout 2017.
So what of our Personal-a-Teas gifts? Well, the only criteria they must have are 1. Emotion and 2. Quality. Only YOU can release the Personal-a-Teas Magic! By taking the time to create your (or your loved one’s) selfies, you inherently introduce emotion – real emotion, your emotion. There were many instances throughout the year, where we witnessed the REAL magic that only Personal-a-Teas can bring. We received a super-hug, a magical embrace from a local salon owner, such was her amazement at her gift! This magic inspired our blog: ‘The Vision of Emotion’. Another instance was upon providing a Personal-a-Teas mug and coaster set to the Tweeting Goddess, herself, Samantha’s eyes lit up, incrementally as she read each personality trait in her selfie…’Wow!’ She declared, ‘this is not just a gift, it’s an experience!’

If you want to surprise a loved one during 2017…
In 2003, Pixar Productions released the seminal animation: Finding Nemo. This summer we were treated to the sequel Finding Dory. The pinnacle of the Personal-a-Teas imagination was achieved this December, after two months of celebrity engagement culminated in successfully completing our very own quest: ‘Finding Rory!’
Rory Cowan, the popular actor, son of Agnes Brown from Mrs. Brown’s Boys received his Personal-a-Teas selfie! ‘I don’t know what it is, but I like it!’ was his response. After a short spell of liking each other’s tweets, Rory changed his Twitter profile picture: he was drinking from a mug with Gogglebox Ireland emblazoned upon it. ‘Rory, we’re gonna have to pimp your mug with your Personal-a-Teas Selfie was our response to this ‘avatarial’ change. The subsequent ‘like’ for this comment, lit the touch-paper for what turned out to be the most fun quest for Personal-a-Teas.
After many false dawns, we finally managed to get our Personal-a-Teas gift to Rory and to have a two-hour conversation with the man himself. He’s a man with no heirs or graces, celebrity hasn’t stunted his friendliness and willingness to chat with humble strangers.
The ‘Finding Rory’ quest was yet another example of how we think ‘outside the box’, using our imagination, creativity and innovation to bring emotional enjoyment to people’s lives.
Everything Personal-a-Teas has achieved has been down to sheer grit, resolve and a belief in the Personal-a-Teas magic. In 2017 we will continue to build our café community, our end-user base, expand our team and acquire a strategic partner ready to take this pioneering concept to the masses.
